Worlds Upon Worlds
Each astral body within the Cosmic Machine is actually a divine being tasked with shepherding Mankind and guarding The Sphere from the horrors that lurk just beyond the light's edge. Every star, nebula, and planet upon which mortals make their homes is a sentient entity with a mind, personality, and agenda of its own. Thus everything upon these worlds, from flora and fauna to geography and climate is a result of the Celestial's individual personality, and an expression of their character. A god of hope and wisdom is a world of light and beauty while a god of war and death is a hard and bleak world, made to test the strength of its inhabitants.
The culture, history, and nations of each world are thus shaped in response to the character of the god-world upon whom they reside. From the dawn of Creation, all worlds developed apart from one another, seeing the stars and planets circle the heavens around them, yet oblivious to the notion that other peoples, cultures, and nations were developing upon these lights in the heavens right alongside them. Seen from afar, each world appears as another star or perhaps a moon. Thus each world earned many names from the many people who beheld it. Given here are a handful of key worlds as named by their most prominent native civilizations.
