South of Mithraes is Vaeldosh, known widely to Mithraeans as the Dark Continent. Vaeldosh is home primarily to powerful Ekunquendi and Kyverquendi clans and empires. In the treacherous mountainous peaks and dark mushroom forests the Drow and Dwarves make their homes and wars, striving against one another for territory, resources, and vain pride. Like the rest of Arcadia, the majority Vaeldosh is covered in forests and thick vegetation. The north of the continent is characterized by marshes and vast mushroom forests before giving way to great, jagged mountains covered with conifers and evergreens. Here prominent houses make their homes and fortresses, locked in constant struggle with one another. Southern Vaeldosh, on the other hand, is humid and tropical, covered in the thick, verdant growth of ferns, vines, orchids, and impossibly tall palms. This region is inhabited by exotic, dangerous creatures, large poisonous insects, and savage clans of Elves said to practice dark magic and cannibalism.
The central conflict on Vaeldosh centers around the vast and powerful Nihmean Empire and their struggle to conquer the free Dwarves of Khyvar and Absul Gron. Both sides of the conflict devote a majority of their time and resources to fighting this intractable war. Much of their recent culture has evolved around this conflict, leading both factions to adopt a militaristic lifestyle, praising achievements in battle and embracing developments which contribute to the war effort. Both Drow and Dwarven cultures are very old, dating back to when the continent was first founded at the beginning of the Fourth Age. Their roots run deep throughout the land, making it unlikely that either will remove the other’s influence from Vaeldosh any time soon.

The wretched swamps and flatlands of Absul Gron form a bleak landscape few would find reason to settle. Yet cities of laborers, outcasts, and entrepreneurs, teeming with industry have grown from the marsh, seeking the wealth of oil that lies beneath.
This vast forest consists not of trees, but of thousands of varieties of mushrooms from the titanic to the microscopic. The Ekunquendi tribes that inhabit this land carve sprawling cities from the mushroom fields, building their homes and businesses inside the vast fungal structures.
Juxtaposed between the rain forests of Fal Talestria and the fungal fields of Fal Gorsikha lies the mushroom jungle of Fal Naeloth. Small communities of tradesmen, farmers, hunters, and free folk call this transitional region home.
The wild jungles of Fal Talestria are home to some of the most unique forms of life on The Sphere. Few cities lie on the outskirts of the jungle, the last bastions of civilization before the wilderness takes over completely.
Jagged mountains cover the skies of Khyvar, forbidding any to journey through their treacherous passes into the fiercely independent Dwarven kingdoms just beyond the rocky veil. This land of stone is grim and forbidding, secreting away a wealth of culture and treasure beneath the mountains.
