Nubari
(noo-bahr-ee)
The Nubari are an odd and beautiful race of Men from the world of Nod. As children of the god of laughter, trickery, and drunkenness, they are an irreverent and surreal people characterized by whimsy, child-like innocence, and a love for all things fun and beautiful. By the standards of other cultures, they dress, look, and act oddly, like creatures from a fairy tale. They are the people of dreams; flamboyant, chaotic, and full of gaudy glamour that brings color and joy to life.
There are two halves of the Nubari race: Chimer and Madrigals. Both are outlandish, whimsical, and good-natured but that's where the similarities end. Madrigals embody the stuff of dreams while Chimer embrace the nightmare. On their home world of Nod, Madrigals claim the northern continent; a land of colorful hills, forests, and glowing cities called the Dreamscape. Chimer call the southern continent of fens, marshes, and twisted forests known as the Nightscape their home. Drawn by their insatiable wanderlust, both peoples regularly venture off-world, though for most Nodlings, excursions away from their sleepy homeland are considered an unpleasant necessity. With an adventurous spirit, outlandish appearance, and a beautiful soul, the Nubari inspire those around them...to exactly what end depends on the individual in question. But there is no denying that those who encounter one of the dreamfolk of Nod are never quite the same after their experience. At the very least, they'll always have a story to tell. |

Ethnicity & Origin
ChimerChimer are the people of nightmare and shroud themselves in shadows, bat-wings, and cloaks of gaudy darkness. The terror they portray tends to be almost comical in its exaggeration. Chimer aren't aren’t particularly evil, just as Madrigals aren't particularly good. They simply reflect the darker side of a rather nonsensical coin. And while there is the occasional bad apple, their frightening appearance belies their genteel nature.

MadrigalMadrigals are the people of dreams, an absurd and beautiful folk who inspire hope and passion in those they encounter. Madrigals vary wildly in appearance from one to the next, each sporting an array of features from rainbow-colored hair to butterfly wings to skin that glitters like virgin snow. Madrigals can be good or evil, just like any mortal and can use their wiles to give inspiration or just gain attention for themselves.
