I am Fomorian : They are Fomorians : It is Fomorian : This is about the Fomorians
Also known as Infernals, Hellborn, Devils
Ages ago, the Raksha captured primitive clans from the many Mortal races. In dark pits, they broke the spirits and warped the bodies of their captives into twisted monstrosities. These wretched souls fell to shadow and became the Fomorian people, a race of destroyers and usurpers bound to the will of the Raksha. Though freed from demonic control at the end of the Dark Age, their dreadful reputation and fearsome appearance lingers, making Fomorians a race of outcasts, feared and reviled throughout the Sphere.
Thus, many Fomorians call the world of Helios home, dwelling beneath the sands of S’thek in a winding labyrinth known as Neth’al Tuak, the Lands of Shadow. Their strange cities twist unnaturally in the dark, cast in the eerie light of glowing mushrooms. In this world of slinking shadows, all are liars, pulled inexorably towards chaos and dissent. Wherever he goes, the Fomorian carries with him wicked affinities and wounds born of mistrust. DARK IMPULSETheir ancient curse makes the Fomorian hero a tragic figure, torn between the good (or at least the socially appropriate) and the evil everyone expects, including the Fomorian herself. Oftentimes, heroic Fomorians must remain on the move, constantly running from past transgressions or seeking ways to atone for their sins both new and old, both real and imagined. Less heroic Fomorians simply decide to live life for themselves, seeking fame, fortune, and power and using any means necessary to acquire them.
The LIFE of a FOMORIAN
|
"Look at this face. Would I lie to you?" |
among lambs
It is hard for the Fomorian not to perceive themselves as a dangerous and untrustworthy individual, capable of incredible acts of depravity. Having witnessed their potential for malevolence and experiencing the fallout of their deeds (whether or not it affected them personally), it is hard not to have a healthy fear of one's own inner demons...especially when trying to live a life of goodness and virtue. Many Fomorians view themselves as devious wolves living among gullible lambs, doing their best not to hurt too many of their fellow Mortals, either for the sake of high-minded morality or the necessary conformity to social expectations if one does not wish to spend life in prison.
Long ago, a band of outcast Fomorians settled in the winding caverns of Neth'al Tuak on Helios, making a home for themselves far from the light of the sun and the baleful gaze of other Mortals. It didn't take long for word to reach other Fomorian exiles and the eerily glowing cities of the twisted dark began to grow. Most Fomorians prefer to live among other Mortals, either because they see the advantage in being close to their prey or because they know all too well the darkness that dwells within the Fomorian soul and do not wish to make their bed among back-seeking daggers. But for any Fomorian with no other option, the snaking arms of Neth'al Tuak are always open.
Dark Inheritance
As a race created by demonic forces, born from the twisted souls of corrupted Mortals, the Fomorian people are naturally drawn to a life of selfish deceit and indiscriminate chaos. They were made to thrive in darkness and have a supernatural talent for twisting words to create a convincing web of lies. Many possess a prehensile tail among their demonic traits, which they train to wield as deftly as any appendage, treating it as a third arm, These tools and more make the Fomorian a worthy opponent in any battle, be it of blades, words, or wits.
DARK INHERITANCEYou have low-light vision, allowing you to see with perfect clarity in low-light conditions. You have Advantage on any Feat related to deception, manipulation, or seduction.
AdvancedYou can use an Asset to unlock the Advanced version of Dark Inheritance, which functions as above but also allows you full use of your prehensile tail, granting it all the finesse and dexterity of a third arm. Your tail can equip and use one-handed weapons, shields, and items that can be held or used with one hand and may interact with the world as though it were an extra hand.

Born from the pure souls and graceful forms of the ancient Elves, the Amnoans are full of poise, cunning, and arcane understanding. Small tribes of Amnoans often inhabit treetop cities built in dark, corrupted woods where other Mortals fear to tread. Such tribes often enjoy a fearsome reputation as beautiful demons luring travelers to their death in the haunted wood. The reality (more often than not) is that Amnoan tribes fight against the spreading darkness of such woods, using every trick in their considerable arsenal to insure the shadows spread no further than they must. It is indeed uncommon for an Amnoan to leave her tribe behind, and even rarer for her to find welcome among other Mortals. Thus the Amnoans are a rare and beautiful oddity, a terror to her enemies and a blessing to her friends.
|
AppearanceAmnoans have fair, pale skin and deep eyes of black, crimson, or cave-dark brown. Their slight horns curl back along their skulls, just above their pointed ears. Amnoans are slender and beautiful by most standards with hair in a wide array of colors and styles. |
HomelandMost Amnoans live in Arcadia, making their homes in the treetops of cursed woods touched by the Plaguelands. While some may occasionally make their way off-world, the bulk of the Amnoan people can be found in Karganón and the northern reaches of the Yerwood. |

Though the Baalese are the rarest and most elusive of the Fomorian tribes, they are also among the most dangerous. Of all the the first Fomorians, most resisted the darkness (albeit in futility). But there were those who embraced it, becoming eager servants of chaos, blood-thirsty foot soldiers in the war against the light. When the Raksha were cast down at the end of the Apocalpyse, all the Fomorians were set free from their influence, even those who did not wish it so. The Baalese are descended from those ancient Fomorians who forsook their Mortality to embrace the mad power of the Raksha. Though there are small clans of penitent Baalese scattered across the Sphere, most remain ardent followers of the Raksha, founders and leaders of cults devoted to their inevitable return.
|
AppearanceBaleese have pale green skin, pointed, malformed ears and aqualine features. Their horns are large, elaborate, and colored a wicked jade. They are tall, gaunt, and often have long, stringy hair of blonde, silver, and white with haunting, empty yellow, red, orange, or white eyes. |
HomelandThe Baalese have no homeland and most are solitary individuals who lead cults of like-minded zealots devoted to the will of the Raksha. Some live in small nomadic clans that wander Elkingar, the Fists of Keth, Tsarosa, and the cities of Neth'al Tuak. |

Youngest among the Fomorian races, the Chalamites were created by the Raksha not in the primordial days of the Sphere, but during the Apocalypse. As their foothold upon reality was slipping, the otherworldly demons captured and corrupted any Halfling clans they could get their tendrils around, turning them into the people who would become the Chalamites. Though their bodies were changed, the transformation was not as complete as with other Fomorians; the Chalamites remain and optimistic and upbeat people who love the simple pleasures of life, much like their Halfling kindred. In more open-minded places, it is not uncommon to see Chalamites breaking bread with Halflings, sharing life, and even intermarrying. Even so, Chalamites often find themselves between worlds, rejected by most Mortals and unaccepted by Fomorians who find them grating and irritatingly upbeat.
|
AppearanceChalamites are short, standing from 3 to 4 feet high with small, nubby horns and light blue skin. Their eyes come in shades of blue, green, and purple while their hair comes in a variety of colors and styles. They have short, pointed ears and youthful, child-like features. |
HomelandLike the Halflings from whence they were sired, Chalamites prefer the pastoral simplicity of rolling hills, plains, and temperate woodlands. Most live in small, remote communities in the Wynderwood or among other Halflings in culturally progressive regions. |

Eskeran are the most populous and widespread of all the Fomorians, much like the Humans they were created from. And like humanity, Eskerans are bold, brash, and headstrong, always believing their way is the right way. Charismatic and strong-willed, Eskerans accomplish many deeds both brave and terrible in their time, making and breaking alliances as the need arises. When other Mortals think of the Fomorian race, it is most likely an Eskeran they envision. Though the Eskeran have no kingdom or political dominion to call their own, they are thoroughly spread through every major society, influencing the course of events from within. Their natural boldness, curiousity, and penchant for causing trouble insures that there will be no shortage of tales to tell when an Eskeran is involved.
|
AppearanceEskeran have skin in shades of brown and red with long, prominent horns that protrude backwards along their skulls. Their eyes of yellow, red, purple, or brown gaze outwards with utmost intensity as a crown of stylish brown, red, blonde, or white hair tops their brow. |
HomelandThe Eskeran are the most widespread of all Fomorians and significant populations can be found in every major civilization. Many can be found in Aldegan, Ishtar, Golgorath, S'thek, Sundar, and Fal Gorsikha, not to mention the underground cities of Neth'al Tuak. |

Born of the corrupted bodies and souls of the Cyrean people, the Eurymithrans were plucked from the depths of their underwater kingdoms and plunged unwillingly into a sea of shadows. Touched by the madness of the deep, the Eurymithrans are a melancholic and macabre people, unafraid to speak troublesome truths and disrupt pernicious social norms others are comfortable tolerating. Their outlook is one of nihilistic optimism; hope born in knowing the depths of despair - that if one can acknowledge and work through the bleakness of a moment, it may break and make way for a better tomorrow. Rarely are Eurymithrans received well by any people. Most live solitary lives or migrate from sea to sea in a small band of kindred sojourners, living above or below the waves as need and circumstance dictate.
|
AppearanceEurymithrans have slick skin in shades of blue and green, much like the sea from whence they came. Their deep-set eyes are wholly black, white, or red. Like many of their Cyrean kindred, they have tendrils upon their heads which are styled back in various fashions. |
HomelandEurymithrans are most at home in or close to the water, though rarely do they ever settle in one place for long. Some live among the Cyreans of Astora while others find a place roaming the seas of Vol M'kosh, Corsica, and Domigas Algoa. |

The Fondrians were born of the kaleidoscopic dreams of the Nubari, natives to the dreamworld of Nod. They are as wild and varied as the people from whence they were born, agents of chaos through and through. While many Fomorians fight against their nature as incorrigible bastards, Fondrians tend to embrace their identity as mischief makers. A Fondrian loves nothing more than to disrupt the staid and static gray of normal life with a burst of chromatic chaos. This may come in the form of an inappropriate joke, a prank, a small act of arson, whatever it takes to get people off their feet and take in the beauty and absurdity of the world around them. Naturally, Fondrians are a magnet for trouble, but on the bright side (and with Fondrians, there is always a bright side), things are never boring!
|
AppearanceFondrians most often have skin of bright pink, though some bear deeper shades, even delving into mauve and maroon. Their hair is a spectacle of rainbow colors and wild styles, their eyes are as copper, gold, and silver and their prominent (often decorated) horns curl upward. |
HomelandFondrians cohabitate with the dreams and nightmares of Nod, but many find their way off-world. These colorful people typically have no permanent residence but tend to spend most of their time in large population centers like those in Cardinia, the Wynderwood, and Nakaga. |

The mighty Ginian were shaped from the powerful bodies and war-born spirits of the Orcs. It should come as no surprise then, that the dark impulses of the Ginian drives him into endless, often violent conflict with the world around him. Ginians are prized warriors, often sought after by mercenary companies for their fearsome appearance, reputation, and unquenchable thirst for blood. Yet like their Orcish kindred, Ginians bear a deep sense of spirituality, born perhaps of constant encounters with death. Oftentimes, this takes the form of an obsession with death and the trappings of mortality; skulls, bones, and symbols of death often accompany the Ginian's personage. Other times, the Ginian seeks to escape the pull of wanton violence and the adornment of fatality, living a simple life as a worker or craftsman. Yet even these hopeful few cannot escape the pull of their souls and the bloody nature of the world around them as violence inevitably draws them in again and again.
|
AppearanceGinians are large and powerfully built, standing well over six to seven feet of muscle. Their skin comes in shades of yellow to brownish red and their thick, mighty horns curl outward and up from their heads, lit by eyes of yellow, red, or brown and hair of black, brown, or gray. |
HomelandGinians most often live in frontier areas where their muscles are put to best use and folk don't pry too deeply into pasts or care much for appearances. One can find small clans of Ginians across Golgorath, Vol M'kosh, Arhona, Odain, Khyvar, and Hemnyspek. |

When word of the creation of the Fomorians reached the ears of the Celestials, divine agents within creation took action against the Raksha, capturing a handful of the newborn creatures and secreting them away to hidden temples wherein the fledgling demon-born were turned to the light instead. The descendants of these fortunate few are known as Malathim and number among the least common of the Fomorian people. Nearly all Malathim serve the gods in some form or fashion, as prophets, priests, or warriors who fight back against the encroaching darkness. While the Malathim control no lands nor hold great influence among the political powers of the Sphere, their hand in writing the histories of the worlds can be seen in the theology and orthodoxy of many religions, in the horrors they have slain, and in the suffering they have abated.
|
AppearanceThe Malathim have skin of blue which ranges in tone from light to near-black. Their gleaming eyes shine out as flashing gold or silver and their horns are curled to the side of their head, much like a ram's. Their hair is often silver, black, or a mix of grey-blue tones. |
HomelandMalathim are among the least populous of Fomorians, descending from a small handful of wretches captured by divine agents long, long ago. Most live in remote temples or serve in the shadows of prominent churches like those in Espina, Simbala, and Sundar. |

Like many other Mortals, the crafty and clever Goblins were abducted and dragged into darkness, their bodies and souls corrupted to become the Nyxian people. Once freed from the control of the Raksha, the Nyxians proved their cunning and handiness an invaluable tool as the early Fomorian tribes made their way through brave new worlds that hated and feared them. The Nyxians created many tools, weapons, and technologies which are still in use wherever Fomorians hold a significant foothold in the cultural landscape. In addition to being clever and adaptable, Nyxians are tenacious and fiercely driven, always hatching a new scheme and pursuing it with single-minded determination, showing little regard for how it affects others or what must be sacrificed along the way.
|
AppearanceNyxians have red skin in varying light and dark tones with large, prominent pointed ears and sleight horns that point upwards from their brow. Their eyes are often red with some in shades of blue or green. They are small in stature, normally standing less than 4 feet in height. |
HomelandNyxians typically live wherever there is a large population of other Fomorians, though there are rumors that small settlements exist throughout Mul Z'orrah where the Goblins once dwelled. One can typically find Nyxians in Neth'al Tuak or large population centers. |
