Random Encounters
As characters travel the wilderness, they are bound to happen upon threads that lead them to greater adventures. Or maybe they just run into something curious on there way to their next destination. Whatever the end result, GMs can use the random encounters presented here to take the story in a new direction, offer a thread players can follow into the next adventure, or simply spice up the game by giving players an interesting diversion from the main action.
The encounters here offer a wide range of experiences set across a variety of platforms. Whether the party is journeying through mountains, deserts, forests, or a crowded city, there should be a table of encounters that offers something interesting. Additionally, a handful of random encounters for every specific region can be found on each World's page.
Each encounter is described rather vaguely; no specific monsters, races, locations, or characters are mentioned to allow the GM room to fill in the blanks as best suits their game. Even potential traps and dangers are left unspoken so that a challenge appropriate to the characters' level can be slotted in.
To initiate a random encounter, simply pick the environment (to the right) that you feel is most appropriate for your group's location. You can either roll 1d20 and run the corresponding encounter or simply pick the one you like best.
