AnimalsA variety of trained beasts and livestock are also available to purchase in many cities and towns. Characters can purchase such creatures to accompany them on their adventures. Prices for these creatures can fluctuate based on their availability on the world in question; the more common a creature is, the lower its price will be while the opposite is true of exotic beasts.
There are three tiers of domesticity which an animal can be purchased at; the more domesticated the creature, the more expensive. Animals are qualified as Tame (having submitted to Man as its master), Trained (having been taught how to serve its master best), and Bred (having been bred to serve a certain way for generations). Feats to command the creature to perform special stunts or calm it when it becomes frightened have a +1 (Tame), +2 (Trained), or +3 (Bred) bonus. When you purchase an animal, decide the tasks for which the animal was tamed/trained/bred. Each animal has only a handful of options (listed in each animal's entry). If Tamed, you may pick one of these options. If Trained, pick two options. If Bred, take three. |
